AUDIO AND VIDEO CASSETTES:
|
|
From the beginning of the communications
revolution, polyester film has been the base material of
choice for audiocassettes, due to its superior dimensional
stability, temperature resistance, and ability to be easily
processed and coated.
Videotapes are a form of magnetic media made possible by polyester
film. PET has the strength to withstand high recording speeds and
the smooth defect-free surface required for sharp, clear reproductions
of images for both professional and home video tape cassettes.
Specialised polyester films for this
application are available from five to 12 micron
