Polyester Film meets the strenuous physical,
chemical, mechanical, and especially electromagnetic properties

Utilizing state-of-the-art co-extrusion technology, polyester
film offers unique, dual-surface products with optimised
electromagnetic properties on one side, combined
with a surface that provides excellent processability on
the other side.
The range of polyester films available covers the full
gauge needs of both consumer and professional videocassette
applications,
with
most products
being in the nine µm to 20 µm range. Films are
available with balanced mechanical properties (for VHS formats),
and with superior longitudinal strength (tensilized films)
for extended recording times and professional use.
•Audio
From the very beginning, polyester film has been the base
material of choice for audiocassettes, due to its superior
dimensional stability, temperature resistance, and ability
to be easily processed and coated. Using specially designed
equipment, Polyester Film provides tensilized
films that are optimised for longitudinal strength.
Polyester film is available in gauges from five to 12
micron, which typically accommodates all types of cassettes
with
recording times of one to two hours (C60, C90, C100, and
C120).

Polyester film features outstanding physical characteristics
that allow it to meet the requirements for basically all
applications of tape-based data storage.
